Strips

Strips uniquely combine circulation and stagnant directional elements while providing a differentiated signage tool from Circles and Arrows. Strips are best used on the treads, risers, top, and bottom of stairwells as visual cues to indicate “up” and “down” directions while reminding everyone to maintain proper social distancing. Strips can also be used for directing semi-stagnant lines of traffic such as approaches to cafeterias, or where to wait outside in an appropriately distanced fashion before receiving a temperature check.
All Safe ScholarsTM floor signs have received UL410 approval for slip resistance, bringing an additional layer of safety to your school’s facilities. Our products are designed for specific use applications, and with a lifespan compatible with routine floor maintenance.

Our most popular, 100% GREENGUARD Gold-certified Hard Floor option is made of non-PVC materials and manufactured with reduced volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions: 3M durability combined with environmental sustainability makes this the best and most versatile option for school environments.

Our Indoor – Carpet sign combines the same non-PVC GREENGUARD Gold-certified matte overlaminate as our Hard Floor option with the stronger adhesive properties of the IJ180Cv3 underlying film: it is the perfect option for carpets that require more adhesive strength than non-porous, hard floors.

The materials used for our Outdoor signs can already be found at the start-finish lines of marathons, in sports stadiums, and laid on the asphalt of ticker-tape parade routes: they are purpose-built for significant levels of foot traffic on outdoor pedestrian surfaces. This material is ideal to indicate where students should stand outside your school’s entrance for temperature checks, and how to navigate your school’s outdoor campus as safely as possible.

Sizes & Uses
Stairways: our 6″ x 24″ Strips are perfect for the treads and risers of most stairways. Place these signs on the risers of an “up” stairway or the treads of a “down” stairway to effortlessly communicate the direction of travel. Alternatively, place Strips at the top and bottom of the stairway, and use a 3″ Directional Dot on the treads and risers for a similar, but aesthetically different, effect.
Queueing: if you use Circles or Arrows to indicate how to navigate your hallways, Strips provide a differentiated, visual cue of where to stop and form a line. This allows your community to immediately recognize that the traffic pattern has changed, while seamlessly allowing them to continue maintaining social distancing.
Intersections: use Strips as pedestrians approach intersections to remind them to look both ways before proceeding, helping ensure everyone remains safe. Strips can also provide instructions in front of narrow passageways or doorways where social distancing is impossible, such as asking to wait until oncoming traffic has passed before proceeding.
